School

I complain about it what feels like all the time. It's either how stressed put I am from school or how broke I am.
Come May, I can't complain about school anymore. I'll be done with it. Unless I take I take up another degree.
That's somewhat insane to think about.
No more crazy professors. No more classes. No more free food. No more insanely expensive text books.
But on the same hand I need to find a job, and face the real world as it where.
I'm not sure if I'm ready for this.

belforgephel.

Finals are over, and it's on to winter break here!
It's weird to think this is going to be my last 'winter break' ; n ;
Graduation is fast approaching, and everything's so daunting. I've been getting info about my loans left and right, and realizing how much I have to pay back is very scary. It's a lot of money to owe back for a career that doesn't pay back very big, nor very steadily. It's odd to have to think about all the tings I need to cut out of my life in the approaching month, and what I'll need to be adding on. I'll be opening up commissions soon (more info before the end of the week), and adding more items to my shop. I'll need a website soon and that's not going to design it's self.
It's so much to think about, and while I know I'm fortunate enough to live with loving parents who won't be kicking me out once I'm done, I do want to move out and live on my own. Even if that means learning how to do laundry.

I know I don't really need to bog myself down, but I can't help but worry about the future.
Part of me hope the world ends this month...

In happier news!
I'm going to be seeing The Hobbit on opening night!
It's going to be a big group of us all going, which should be fun. Sadly no costumes, our larp outfits are so painfully un-high-fantasy, and so very much the wrong time period it's not gonna fly. I don't think our boffer weapons will go over well either.
Oh well, hooray for movies!

Frankenmuth! Frankenmuth! Frankenmuth!

Bavarian Inn: A restaurant and some shops in the lower level
Chanting it's name won't summon the town, or even magically transport you there, but it's so exciting to go, you just can't help it! It's a really quaint, German style town in Michigan. It's extremely beautiful, and it's a really perfect place to go for the Holidays.

There's so many cool shops there! Ranging from an old fashioned country store, with loads of candy ever where! Better yet, in the basement, is the most AMAZING store ever! It's all miniatures! Everything you could possibly want for a doll house, and maybe some things you didn't know they made for dolls!

haha, I make the best faces for the camera :v

We stopped for coffee, I was super sleepy and a grouch pants from not sleeping well the night before. Rubix is trying to cheer me up, and talking about D&D. My mom goes a little camera crazy sometimes, especially when we all go out, and especially especially when it's around the Holidays. I'm not one for photos, and most of the time, I won't humor her. All of the photos I'm using where taken by her, or my dad borrowing the camera.

There's a really cool open air market. We spent quite a while talking to two really cool ladies! They had a booth and where selling chain mail jewelry, bags, and other stuff, as well as art work! Turns out I've seen them at conventions! I'm looking forward to seeing them this coming year at GenCon!

In the sub level of the Bavarian Inn, they have a toy store, with a Sanrio area. I love love love~ Hello Kitty and her friends. We found this hat, which was super cute! But 30$ was a little too much, and I already have a lot of hats > 3 >
The little Chococat laying next to me ended up coming home with me. I love the lil guy, he's my favorite Sanrio character. <3

This bridge leads over the river to a shopping plaza, with a lot of unique, and cute shops. Every year when we go, there's caroling, and cookies with hot chocolate. There where all kinds of stores. With beads, animals, faeries, music, even an arcade! We did a little shopping. Rubix got me a set of 'worry' beads. I used to have a set when I was younger, but they broke due to so much use. It was a really sweet gift from him. I also got the coolest scarf/gloves:

MONSTER PAWS!
They match my hair, so it was perfect! Super warm, and super duper cute!
Oh wow this shop was super pink! I barely noticed! I was too busy playing with the gloves > w <
They have little pads, and claws. My dad is just amused and trying to get out of shot. I'm such a little kid sometimes.

Our last stop in Frankenmuth....

HUUUUGGGGEEEE Ornaments!

Lots of colors! And loads of these silly elfs!

There's more than JUST Christmas stuff! They have some stuff for almost every holiday!

Traveling circus!

But it's mostly Christmas!

So. Many. Santas!
I love all the colored lights

Brauner's Christmas Wonderland!!
It's a HUGE Christmas super store. It has ornaments of so many different things, from all around the world. Plus giant trees, and lots of other decorations! They have stuff so you can make your own little Christmas village, I don't even know how many different kinds of nativity scenes, and a huge room full of Precious Moment's dolls that have been sold through out the years.
It's a really magical place, and really gets you in the Christmas mood. I've heard from some people it's even a Christmas overload! Personally, after Brauner's, nothing lives up!
We had a really nice safe drive home, with just a few flakes of snow. We all had an amazing time, and are now completely ready to ring in the Holiday Season!

Teeny Tinny

Teeny Giraffe!

Hope every one had a good Thanksgiving! We went up to a really German Christmas themed town, and had am amazing German dinner! There was so much food!Desert was orange sorbet, and it had this cute little giraffe!

I've haven't been blogging much due to classes, and general not really having much to post. I've been reading more people's, epically other illustrator. I've come to learn that I don't always need to just post artwork, though that is important! For most of my drawings/sketches/art, my tumblr, aadoppelganger, is the place to go. I think I just need sometime to talk about life, and generally existing.
So! Onto that!

I decided to take a break today from water-coloring *cough*procrastinating*cough*, and head over to the local Asian market. I'm a big fan of aloe, so I got a big bottle of 'regular' flavor, and a smaller bottle of Strawberry flavor from the cooler. As I was waiting behind a family, I spotted these!:

Whaaa! So cute!! It's a little kit to make cute tinny Asian food! The sushi one caught my eye right away. I don't eat fish, (or much meat at all these days!), so candy sushi would be perfect for me! Then I saw the other ones! There's the cute cookie, and the ice cream on too! Out of shot was a pouch version with a mix of cookies, candies, and ice cream. I was sooo tempted till I saw the price! They ranged from 5$ (the pouch), to nearly 7$ (the sushi)! These would be so much fun for the holidays to make with family. I ended up buying some lychee jelly pouches for 1$ instead. Maybe I'll buy the cute pink duckie that's filled with all different flavors....
After my market adventure, I ran to the dollar store, to buy paper towel for water-color. I didn't walk around too much, everything was so Christmas-tastic, and I'm a little Christmas'd out from yesterday. I headed over to the food section, looking for snacks. I've been eating so many leftovers, and am looking forward to a week of even more. I spied these cuties amongst all the baby stuff:

They have ladybugs and I think monkeys? Or maybe it was elephants? Regardless, I think the frog are the cutest of the teeny Tupperware. Good for small snacks, like sweets. And only 1$? Not bad at all!

I've got so much work to do the end of the semester is coming so quickly! Luckily I keep thinking today is Sunday! One extra day to work!
For now I leave you with....
Everyone put their teeny animals in my sorbet
TEENY ZOO!!

Drawing. Right. Right. I need to post some of those, huh...
I'm really somewhat torn between using my tumblr for sketches, or using it for cool stuff, or both or? Some fellow students say they'd never dare use tumblr for art, where as other use it all the time. Granted those who use it are bigger names. I already said I dedicated my tumblr to that, so changing it makes me look bad or some such thing. I honestly don't know. I have a feeling I'm going to keep coming back to this topic until I come to a solution. If I come to one...
Enough of that. Here's some watercolor sketches.

As a D&D player, you encounter death a lot. Especially at low levels. We're currently level 1, and death is in every encounter. All but one person has dropped into the negatives, and three of us have stat damage. My bf's pally has fungus rot and it slowly dying unless we can cure her in time. It's pretty scary really. This maybe untrue of all players, but I get attached to my creation. I draw them, come up with stories, and give them something of a life of their own. When their hurt, or close to death, I worry.
There was recently a death among my family friends. Someone mother passed yesterday, and we went to an impromptu visitation in their home. I've seen dead bodies before, this is nothing new. I know more about what happens to dead body that the average person. It...was strange none the less. She was laying there, as if asleep. I was just waiting for her to cough and wake up. She was always coughing, and being in the house and not hearing it, was...strange. Someone I had been talking to less than a month ago. It's not so much a thing of remorse, but a thing of...realization. Thinking? I'm not sure.
What defines something as alive? There's the biological sense of it, but we can keep people who's hearts have failed, and people who's brains have kicked it 'alive'. When ever I think about someones passing, it's rarely about the passing it's self, but about what I remember about them alive. Despite I know they're physically dead, aren't the technically still alive? What about a child who doesn't understand the ramifications of death, who view them as simply gone away? Isn't all we are, beyond a lugging physical form, memories, and what we have derived from the? Even though someone is gone, their ideas, philosophy, and ideals continue via those who where near them in biological life. We as a consciousness are a compilation of memories and what we've derived from said memories, in addition to what has been set in us from those around us, who where a compilation...and so on.
So, dose someone die when their physical body ceases to function, or do they die when every memory of them no longer remembered?
